Will 'Businessman 2' work out?

Director Puri Jagnnath is going his Guru Ramgopal Varma’s way. With blessings of Varma, he directed Amitabh in ‘Buddah Hoga Tera Baap.’ No wonder he got some of his whims though in streaks. After the success of ‘Businessman,’ here is Puri said that he will be doing sequel to the same which will start by this year end and obviously Mahesh Babu will be the hero. RGV was known for announcing sequels like ‘Sarkar’ and ‘Sarkar Raj’ materialized. ‘Rakta Charita’ was the other he announced along with some others. Sequel or a series need to have a story line and in ‘Businessman,’ you have only Mahesh Babu.  Everything revolves him and the film is a commercial entertainer. If that is the yardstick to measure good films, well let wisdom prevail on film makers. Mahesh still has steam and if Puri uses it in the proper way and tag a storyline which is convincing alongside his usual violence and one-liners to demean others, one might have to wait see for final collection reports. Releasing a film in every available theatre during festival season with little or no competition and blowing up the trumpet of a commercial success will convince only the mercantile part of project but not the qualitative part. So, let us wait and see how far Puri will make ‘businessman 2’ work out in idea and implementation.

No Film Can beat @ Businessman 1st day Collections Record!!

Whenever a new movie releases, we hear statements from the producers that their film is releasing in 1000+ theaters. But in realityreleasing in more than 600 theaters is a big big achievement. But with Businessman, that 1000 theaters myth is turning out to be true.


Businessman makers are going for an all out release in all the business territories. It isreleasing in highest number of theaters in every center known. In Hyderabad alone, this movie is going to release in more than hundred theaters. The first list of the theaters itself has 90 confirmed theaters. With six more days to go for release, it would surely surpass the 100 mark.
Businessman is expected to release in 300 theaters in Nizam, which is phenomenal. It would be nearly impossible for anyone to beat this release. How could anyone imagine a 100 theaters release in Hyderabad? Eighty percent theaters in the city would be screening Businessman on January 13! So with this gigantic release and earth shattering expectations, Businessman is going to set a benchmark for opening daycollections. It would be a challenge for anyone to meet it if not beat it!
