Toshiba showed off a convertible tablet style notebook at CES last week. TheToshiba Portege M930 has a 13.3 inch display and an Intel Core i5 processor. It has also got 4GB of RAM and a 256GB Solid State Disk.
Convertible tablet style notebooks usually have a swivel that would let you rotate the display down over the keyboard. But this model is different. It requires you to push the top of the screen back 180 degrees until it faces the opposite direction and then fold the display down over the keyboard.
The mechanism seems quite sturdy. The Toshiba Portege weighs a little over 4 pounds. Of course it is heavier than those ultrabooks that have started flooding the market. No word on pricing or availability at the moment.
